A senior adviser to President Trump’s 2020 campaign posted a video of a 2015 Ukrainian missile firing, misidentifying it as rockets being fired into Israel from Gaza, in an attempt to attack Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN), who has been critical of U.S. support of Israel.
In the tweet, Pierson claims that “650 rockets” were fired into Israel, four people were killed and 28 wounded before she called on Omar to respond “to this violence.”
“Will she condemn it?” she tweeted.
650 Rockets being fired into Israel from Gaza in an attempt to overwhelm Israels Iron Dome: 173 intercepts, 4 people killed, and 28 wounded. What is @IlhanMN response to this violence? Will she condemn it? pic.twitter.com/Vb1Ymxygj6

After a weekend of violence that the area has not seen since 2014, Israel and the Palestinians reached a tentative ceasefire agreement early Monday morning. At least 22 Palestinians and four Israelis were killed.
Republicans and Democrats alike have been critical of Omar — a supporter of the Boycott, Divest and Sanctions movement — for her stance on the U.S.’s support of Israel. Omar called on Israel to end its “occupation” of the Gaza strip and an end to the “cycle of violence” early Monday just before the ceasefire was announced.
How many more protesters must be shot, rockets must be fired, and little kids must be killed until the endless cycle of violence ends?
The status quo of occupation and humanitarian crisis in Gaza is unsustainable. Only real justice can bring about security and lasting peace.

Omar has been labeled anti-Semitic for comments she made to condemn pro-Israel advocates in the U.S.
